Warranty Information

Exceptions to the Warranty

The warranty primarily covers manufacturing defects. However, it does not extend to damages or scratches resulting from incorrect handling, usage, or normal wear and tear. Claims may be declined if the damages fall outside the warranty’s terms. For optimal durability, proper care and maintenance of our products are crucial. Please refer to our Maintenance Guides for appropriate care instructions:

Terms and Conditions

AGS FLOORING, as per the terms and conditions of sale available on www.agsflooring.co.uk ensures that the Flooring Products purchased will conform to their descriptions, satisfy quality standards, and be reasonably suitable for their intended uses. This warranty is valid only when the products are utilised as directed and installed and maintained per the manufacturer’s specifications.

The warranty commences from the original purchase date and is non-transferable. To initiate a warranty claim, proof of purchase is necessary.

For residential applications, our Flooring Products are backed by a 25-year warranty, while for commercial projects, the warranty is limited to 10 years. It is the responsibility of the installer to reject any defective or damaged boards prior to installation, as claims for such boards will not be accepted post-installation. AGS FLOORING guarantees that its products, in their original manufactured form (excluding surface finish), will be free from structural defects for a duration of 20 years. LVT Flooring (Rigid Core) is covered by a 25-year residential warranty and a 10-year commercial warranty. Warranties typically cover manufacturing defects but exclude damages or scratches caused by improper handling or use. Claims may, therefore, be denied if the damages exceed the conditions of the warranty. Proper care and maintenance are essential for extending the lifespan of our products.

AGS FLOORING's Liability

In the rare event that any component of your product fails within the warranty parameters, AGS FLOORING will either repair, refinish, or replace it at no cost, using either the same flooring or a suitable alternative if the original is unavailable. If a resolution cannot be achieved after reasonable attempts, we will refund the purchase price of the defective product, as per our delivery and returns policy detailed on www.agsflooring.co.uk This warranty does not cover additional costs incurred due to defective products, such as the removal of furniture, fixtures, electrical items, or labour charges.

Disclaimer of Warranty

AGS FLOORING is dedicated to reviewing each complaint on a case-by-case basis. For a warranty claim to be valid, it must solely result from a manufacturing defect, and users must have strictly followed all installation and maintenance instructions. If installation instructions were not included with the product, copies should be requested from us before installation. It is essential for the installer to receive a copy of the installation instructions before commencing work.

Natural colour variations within flooring are typical due to factors such as character, exposure to UV light, or sunlight. Consequently, newly purchased or replacement flooring may not precisely match display samples or existing flooring. Ultraviolet rays can also affect organic materials, including flooring. Continuous exposure to sunlight might alter the colour of various floors, regardless of the stain or finish applied. Some floors might fade, whereas others, like cherry and oak, may darken. This change is not considered a defect in the product.

Your flooring requires ongoing maintenance. It is vital to adhere to the guidelines provided by AGS FLOORING to prevent sand and dust accumulation by placing appropriate mats at entry points. The warranty applies only if the area of damage on each board exceeds 1 sq. cm. AGS FLOORING reserves the right to conduct on-site inspections of any issues and may examine the floor in its installed condition.

For residential non-commercial use, the warranty on products lasts 25 years and operates on a sliding scale, with annual depreciation equating to one part per year (e.g., a 25-year warranty = 25 parts).

Exclusions from the Warranty

The following circumstances will void and render our warranty invalid:
  1. Damage caused by moisture, including leaks, improper maintenance, excessive moisture in the subfloor, or high humidity levels.
  2. Mechanical damage, such as scratches (e.g., from dragging furniture) or surface damage due to falling objects. We advise using protective felt pads on the legs of tables and chairs, as well as felt-backed holders for wheels and casters.
  3. Residual moisture on the floor, cleaning methods that involve excessive liquid, or the use of unsuitable cleaning products.
  4. Damage resulting from settling or uneven subfloors.
  5. Improper installations that do not adhere to the provided instructions.
  6. Installation over electric underfloor heating systems or direct exposure to water heating pipes (whether plastic or metal).
  7. Installations carried out by inexperienced or untrained persons. Installers must have extensive experience and hold a Level 2 NVQ qualification in floor fitting. Relevant experience with the specific type of flooring being installed (planks, herringbone, chevron, LVT, etc.) is strongly recommended.
  8. Installation in conservatories or rooms with large windows that receive direct sunlight.
  9. Improper maintenance or insufficient care. The finish itself is not covered by the warranty.
  10. Damage resulting from accidents or misuse that causes staining, scratching of the floor finish, dulling of its gloss, or indentations.
  11. Damage due to high foot traffic, the presence of pet claws, sand, gravel, or other abrasive materials.
  12. Walking on the flooring with stiletto heels, which may result in indentations that are not covered by the warranty. A stiletto heel can exert up to 2,000 pounds of pressure per square inch on flooring.
  13. Damage caused by natural or man-made disasters, including, but not limited to, leaks or breaks in plumbing, fire, flooding, earthquakes, or standing water after construction.
